![]() Massachusetts is interesting to explore and the environment is downright pretty in some placesĥ. Bethesda finally found a use for all the crap you pick up with the settlement systemĤ. Power armor finally lives up to the lore about making you a walking tankģ. Combat is leagues better than both NV and SkyrimĢ. I was wondering how I would feel about the game now that I know not to expect FNV 2.0, since I was initially very disappointed. ![]() Playing through FO4 again for the first time since I completed the game way back when. But it is utterly unexceptional in every single way. Very few have interesting characters, plot lines or writing. Need to re-paint a stadium wall? Go shoot some bandits, I guess. They're all the same, just go somewhere and shoot bandits or super mutants. Worst of all, most quests are just rubbish. All the dialogue options are the same, it's "give me more info" "yes", "yes but be an ass about it" and "no, but yes later". There's no real stats to think about, and levelling up quickly becomes meaningless because the vast majority of the perks are useless or uninteresting, while most good ones have arbitrary level gates. There's not enough attention paid to continuity or world building (why is there shelves full of perfectly preserved food in a supermarket in a town which is populated 95% by bandits and raiders? Why when it was established in a previous game that ghouls need food or go insane without contact can one in a fridge for 200 years neither starve to death or go insane? Etc), and it's incredibly lackluster as an RPG. ![]() The setting is generic post apocalypse with a fallout visual skin applied to it. It's an OK game, but not a good fallout game.
